I had (or have) been a member for a long time. If I didn't come to the site for a month or more, it seemed that I had to sign in (whereas if I had signed in recently, the site seemed to recognise me). That was OK. Today I tried to sign in, but I was unable to. I don't know why. So I re-registered. I was expecting to be told that my email address was already on the system, but that didn't happen.
OK so I'm a new member. I'd like to be able to see what questions I asked before, and what questions I replied to. Can I do that? How?

Was that the last time that you looked in under your old user name ?.

Yes, tonyav, I think it was. But possibly the AB site recognised my email address and I didn't need to sign in. I don't know how it does that, but it just says "Welcome Back [insert my other user name here]" Of course, there should be a comma after 'Back', to show the vocative, but I'll let that slide.

Sorry Bert45 - I am not following this. Do you mean it let you in under your old name? So was Bert45 your old name?
I repeat- if you know your old user name you simply need to use the 'forgotten my password' facility.
if you or your computer clear your cookies occasionally, you'll have to sign in again; if not, you'll stay signed in to anything you haven't logged out from.

Hi, fiction-factory. It's so hard to remember. I don't think I ever 'log out' of this site. It seems to me to be a matter of time whether or not AB remembers me and I don't have to sign in. I clicked on 'theanswerbank' in my Bookmarks just a few minutes ago, and it just says 'Welcome Back Bert45', and that's what used to happen with my old user name, if I had used AB recently. As the last time I had been here was in October, it seems to have assumed I might be somebody else and needed to sign in. perhaps I mistyped (but I don't think so) when I used my email address (since I was not sure of my user name) and the correct password, but everything is fine now.
