How Do I Make This Shower Work?

I live in a small flat and have an ensuite. The spare/main bathroom has this shower over the bath. I cannot see how to get the shower to work.

There are no switches on the wall and no "knob" that I can see, to direct the water up to the shower head.

Any thoughts?

The bath could do with a clean :-)
We can see that the water is running into the bath, there should be a lever to lift up to direct water to shower head
I also would try the pulling up the collar round the base of the hose. You might be able to do it with your toes, to keep your hair dry.
don't know if it's the 'bulbous' part where the end of the shower hose connects to the middle of the taps needs to be pushed up or down but this i think has been mentioned

From the close up it would appear as suggested that you have to lift the collar up.
If you are having problems raising the collar it is because it is scaled up and will be seized.through lack of use.
What I would do is twist it and try to pull it up at the same time. If you can't get it to move squirt some WD40 into the collar. When it's freed off raise and lower the collar rapidly a number of times and this will free it off.

Thanks everyone, (apart from melv16) the bloomin bath is, spotless.

I'll have a go tomorrow and make sure I take the shower head off, before trying the tug of war. :)
Let the shower head lie in the bath whilst you are having a fiddle but do make sure its not pointing upwards to avoid a soaking.

I've successfully found the knob and it moved quite easily when I actually saw where it was.

Cheers
Where is the knob? We really need to know :D

It's right in the middle, and you pull it up. ;)
