I made for too much onion gravy yesterday and left the rest in a pyrex dish. I popped it in a cold oven to cool and, unfortunately, forgot to put it in the fridge.

I have only just remembered it's in the oven. Will it be ok to re-heat and serve it again tonight. I know that my Mum would say.......'No'.

What do you think?

Tilly. it is usually the fried rice served after their closed day as they use the leftover boiled rice(2 days old) to make the fried rice. I know this because a colleague who had done his Phd on B.cereus explained it to me after my first bad experience. My second episode was caused by 'fresh' noodles bought in the market.
It's been "fine" chrissa because you've been doing the right thing. So far. But many don't...and that includes restaurants.
Jenny...re-heating meat should not be a problem as long as its been cooled properly, and then reheated until bubbling( in the absence of a food temp thermometer). Same for veg. Also, don't stoure for more than 2-3 days.

Thanks, jomfil. I just know that I nearly 'died' and Mr T was fine. The rice was the only was the only difference in the meal.

I can see that they would use the leftover boiled rice to make fried rice, though. Maybe mine was leftover boiled rice. What ever it was, I regretted eating that meal.
