I didnt learn about any science at school as it wasnt a subject we were really offered unfortunately at the school I went to, but Im really interested in learning more about it. I have been reading alot about science and religion lately but Im just looking for recommendations of any interesting books worth a read? Ive read some Dan BRown stuff like Angels and Demons and the Davinci code and would like to learn more about it. Genuine answers only please it may seem like a stupid question but I just want to learn more. Thanks

I second the above book. Great reading.

Also, I recommend "Surely you're joking Mr Feynman" by Richard Feynman. One of the greatest physicists of all time, and this is the best book of all the Feynman books out there. Really interestig reading and tales.
The Demon Haunted World (Science as a Candle in the Dark) by Carl Sagan. Great book. Got an extract for it somewhere...

Try and get hold of a copy of this book and also read the reviews on Amazon.

Richard Feymann is hard core. I recommend the Faber book of Science which is easy to read and gives great insight into scientific thinking. It is also dirt cheap from amazon : http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0571179010/qid=1147393745/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl/203-2407824-2779115
