Why is the american revolution and the french revolution regarded as anachronism?

are they? They did both happen, or so I was taught.
An anachronism is something set at a time when it couldn't possibly have happened, eg, our family is exempted from income tax in perpetuity by a decree issued by King Ethelred the Unready. Are you sure you have the right word in anachronism?
Do you mean ANALAGOUS?
