How cold is it where you are? It is pretty cold and frosty here in the south. I have not taken the dogs out yet as they are fast asleep still. Should I wake them or leave them to sleep.? What do you think?

Been out. Put dogs coats on.(them not me) Still very cold.
We've been out, got muddy, got back, been fed and watered, and now we're all tucked up for the night.

It's very foggy here (we're in a river valley), and according to the thermometer on the local newspaper's building, it was freezing point at midday. Certainly felt it when we went out.
How far south are you maggie, here on the Dorset coast it's freezing fog and has been for a couple of days?

Don't listen to RATTER, he's just trying to be macho! Let the dogs snooze, while you curl up on the sofa and watch a nice slushy film.

I am between Portsmouth and Southampton so we are not used to it being that cold. It is very foggy today. They missed their afternoon walk as they were curled up and they don't like the cold that much. Looks like this weather is here for a few more days at least
come to south yorkshire.very cold and frosty tonight. but the dogs enjoyed it. its a case of having to grin and bear it when you have dogs dont you think

It depends what dogs you have. If I had a labrador or a dog that needed long walks, I would wrap up and go but mine are shih-tzus, lap dogs really. They don't go for long walks. Hate the rain, wind and cold. A run round the garden is good enough in this weather but I do like to get out with them as much as possible.
i agree with you maggie0
It's minus 6 here on the east coast of Norfolk and hasn't got above freezing all day.
Shaney is getting a poor old gentleman now with arthritis in his back legs so it's only short walks for us in this weather and he is most indignant that he has to have his coat on !!

Can't impress the ladies with a coat on. I was in the pet stores today and there were 3 little dogs all having coats fitted. It was quite cute. One of mine hates hers but it's that or freeze.
Its not really that cold up here in Manchester and i havent seen one little bit of this fog that is stopping all these flights yet!!!!!
hi i live in the portsmouth area too, and it is bitter down here because of the sea wind. i also work in a pet store and so many people are buying coats this week big and small. the questions you need to ask yourself is (1) are the dogs a small breed. if they are they will feel the cold alot more then large dogs due to being so low to the ground. and (2) how old are they? as if they are 8 or above they are classed as senior, and also do they get a bit stiff due to their joints. what alot of people dont relise is that just because they once come from the wild, they can cope with it all. but they cant as us humans have domesticated them so much and also we all have heating indoors now so their coats dont adjust properly like they used to.
so if the dog will would tell you that they want to go for a wee then wait till they tell you, or just buy a couple of coats.
hope this helps
