Yes...just bring activities and hope the put on a decent film.
I don't see why not, if they're not whinging children! you could try to book a night flight, and they may sleep for most of it.
Surely you know your kids better than anyone on here and would be in a better position to know how they'd cope with 10 hours on an aeroplane?

i have never been on a long haul flight well actually we did 5 hours for egypt but i was hoping someone had personally done it and new how there children was the day after etc?
They should be fine with activities like Ummmm suggested. My brother was 5 when we did a 13 hour flight from Osaka to Sydney and it didn't seem to affect him in any way. He slept most of the way.
I don't know about yours, but my kids would sit happily playing on a DS for 10 hours if they were allowed to! I think that as long as you have a variety of things to entertain them it will be fine. There are meal breaks etc which all break the journey up anyway and if there is no movie on, take a mini dvd player and they can watch that. A few books/comics etc and it'll go quite quickly - return flight will probably be overnight so that'll be fine.
They will be fine, take stuff for them to do Colouring, games, etc, Tell em stories, they'll have a nap and make sure they have something to stop air-sickness (see your GP) Have a great time.

redhelen is "spot on"
This is impossible to answer ... how can we know if your kids are patient, polite and well behaved who will adopt a stiff upper lip and weather the storm, or simply feral brats that will throw up, shout, scream and generally make eveyone's like a misery?

lol! i like that.. kids playing up! funny that i was under the impression we PAY THE SAME PER FLIGHT FOR A CHILD SEAT AS AN ADULT! GET A LIFE KIDS DO ACTUALLY GET BORED!
*life
We did Edinburgh to Newark and then a change of plane to Rhode Island when ours were 4 and 3 - similar total time but with a wee break in between. They were fine and the time difference didn't seem to bother them at all. They had a nap towards the end of the Newark flight as we had been up quite early and then we just kept them up to about their usual bed time when we arrived and that was them, back into normal routine. Coming back they slept and were fine - we didn't sleep and so were completely wiped out with jet lag for a few days.
A friend of ours used to dose hers on Sudafed whenever they flew and they slept most of the way.

donna....exactly.....but the price of the seat doesnt include annoying other passengers.

Your kids may be fine.....but I have been on many flights where the kids, pull the back of your headrests, kick the back of your seats and make the flight a misery.

However....I just turn around and say."Do you mind keeping you feet to yourselves"....with my meaningful stare.

To be fair.....msny kids DO behave......luck of the draw and as Naz says.....you should know.

actually i was thinking of the after effect! if they was tired for days etc. having children i know they can sometimes get bored and quite fed up and was thinking of a night flight. i wanted to know if it affects the holiday :)
Adults get bored on a 10 hour flight too, but they don't resort to running up & down the plane screaming their heads off ... usually.
donna...No....a ten hour flight will not affect their holiday.
donna - mine were fine see answer at 10.42. get them into normal routine as soon as possible even if it means they are a bit grumpy the first night.
