Suggestions on cheap break

Want to take other half on a cheap break away preferrably not in the uk. Any suggestions on where we could go?
Would be travelling the first week of October and would like to only spend £250 on travel if possible. Would like a city break more than anything.

Berlin is a fantastic city - lots to do and we found the German people really friendly and v helpful. We went in late September last year and the weather was pretty good. Flights from Mcr were about £80 return each but would have been cheaper if we'd got our act together and booked earlier!
