I bought a Panama hat on a visit to Equador some years ago. Although it has got a little grubby & sweaty, I love wearing it when it is sunny. Anybody have any idea as to how to clean it without ruining it?

Use a damp cloth and no detergent - a mild soap at he very most, but not one with surfactants - i.e. washing up liquid and don't use bleach. If the brim is out of shape, use steam from a kettle and re-shape while pliable.

Things you remember. eh?...
Hope this helps.
