If your passport is running out in August 2007, but you wish to travel in May 2007 (to France) do you have to renew it? Because I've heard rumours that you need a few months left on your passport in order to travel. Is this true?

It depends where you are going. As Norman says, you will have no problems in France or anywhere in the EU..

Some countries do require 3 or 6 months on your passport before they will let you in, which is where your rumours come from.
