What really annoys you on the road?

Heres my nominations:

1. Tailgating at night with Lights full on

2. Overtaking and cutting in so you have to slam on the Brakes

3. The car you overtake on a Dual Carriageway speeds up to match your speed

4. Aggressive Driving when you attempt to keep to the speed limit ( see 1 )

5. Unrealistic 40mph limits on Dual Carriageways

6. Cyclists who go off the road then cut on again

7. People coming onto a main road from a side road who haven't looked

8 People approaching a main road from a side road at jet speed ( usually Boy Racer, 4x4 or BMW )

9 People parking their 4x4 two microns from your Driver's Door ...in an empty car park!

Sorry to sound like Victor Meldrew . Anyone else have some examples?

You are bound to get a lot of answers here, but what annoys me most are the drivers who do not indicate at roundabouts - and there seems to be thousands of them !

People who sit at red lights and play with their phone or stereo and then panic when the queue goes without them noticing.

Also people who insist on driving at 40mph on a 60mph road!

every one else who has the temerity to use the road when i want it all to my self, this incudes pedestrians who want to cross the road. aghhhhhhh!!!!! what do you think you're doing? go home and stay in untill i'm finnished.
The roundabout thing bugs the hell out of me aswell. Also people trying to race you at a set of traffic lights when it's so obvious to every one around that there cars faster than yours. Also old people with high power cars plodding along on a country road then speeding up at the first chance to overtake then slowing down again. Pedestrians who think that a road is a big footpath or just step out with out even looking (anyone whose driven up Southwold High Street in the middle of summer will know what i mean). People who freak out at mini roundabouts and don't know whos got right of way (again anyone who's driven in Southwold would know what i mean) The "Gary Boys" who do laps round Yarmouth sea front in there tarted up match boxes.....i mean cars. Oh...and the guys in the BMW's/Mercs who drive everywhere at 150mph and never seem to get stopped by the cops.

you all seem to have forgotten those r soles who drive with their foglights on in

1 broad daylight

2 when it is a light drizzle or when the fog is more than 9 metres from the front of your car

your forgetting the ones who leave them on coz they think it makes there car more "sporty" and there for must make it go faster....like those who have to tart up there engines abit so that they can drag along the 2 tons of subs they stick in there boots.
People who sit in the middle lane of the motorway at 60 mph. In the name of all that's holy-WHY?
This may be a London phenomenon, but those pond dwellers who beep you if you haven't started moving 0.000000000000000000000001 seconds after the traffic lights have gone to amber. I MOVE ON GREEN YOU B******s!
What about bad road layouts with not enouth signs telling you whats what. Good examples are when you drive somewhere new for the first time. You come to a cross road junction with lights. Theres two lanes on the aproach but there full with cars so you cant see any arrows on the road. You get in the left lane, as you want to go straight on (as you normaly do) As the traffic starts to move you suddenly see that the lane your in is for turning left only and then you have to hold everyone up by trying to get in to the right lane. Hows about a nice sign as you aproach the junction telling you which lanes are which!!!

These are not necessarily in order:

1 People who don't indicate or indicate incorrectly at roundabouts.

2 Drivers who change change lanes, often without indicating or checking their mirrors just to get one car length ahead.

3 Brain dead people with no regard for the law or the safety of others who continue to use hand held 'phones whilst driving. This is often seen on the motorway at about 80mph.

4 Parents who are continue looking round to smile or speak to the child on the rear seat.

5 People who can't park a car in anything less than two car lengths.

6 4 x 4s with bull bars

7 Drivers who sit at traffice lights with their foot on the brake. This dazzles those behind, particularly in wet weather.

8 Idiots with wide bore, loud exhausts.

9 Booming audio equipment. Usually driven by clowns who insist on having the windows down. Why don't they just get a better hearing aid? They will need one sooner rather than later.

10 Tailgaters.

11 Those who stop across side roads when waiting fin a queue of traffic.

Aaah I feel better after that rant.

Mine would have to be:

1. Tailgaters, especially those who think that it is OK to come up behind you and put their lights on full beam. Sorry saddo, that's just gonna make me slow down so that I'm level with the lorry I'm overtaking, so you'll be stuck behind me until I want to let you past!

2. People who still insist on using hand-held mobile phones whilst driving.

3. People who don't know what the yellow box at a junction or roundabout is for, and block everything up.

4. Miles of cones and speed restrictions on busy motorways / A-roads when no actual work seems to be going on.

5. Cyclists who think that the highway code doesn't apply to them, and that it's perfectly sensible to ride in dark clothing and without lights on a dark winter morning.

6. People who think that it's OK to park in disabled or parent and baby spaces when they are not entitled to

Grrr rant over, must breathe........

Its got to be the annoying people who sit in the middle lane on a motorway, same as Matty said.

I'd love them to make it illegal to be in an overtaking lane if you're not overtaking. They could be really lenient and only enforce it if theres no other car in view in the lane to the left. That'd stop there being any confusion on when you're allowed to pull out, and stop these gits that choke our motorways.

People who assume that everyone who drives a BMW is driving it like a moron (at least 2 of you have done it already).

BMW drivers are constantly singled out as idiots and it's just not true. There are just as many idiots driving like prats in company 318s as there are in Mondeos or Vectras. It just seems to be that people notice the badly driven beemers. Can't imagine why...

There are better ways of judging someone's driving ability than looking no further than the logo on their bonnet.
