I believe Lidl are selling 10x50 binoculars for �9.99. Can't vouch for the quality but 10x50 is a decent power.

if you're staying at some sort of safari lodge you'll often find they provide binoculars for guests on safari drives,and these will generally be good ones. Check their brochure or email them, if this applies to you.
