Mmmmm....Patsy and I may have second thoughts if we have to go home in that, Yogi!..... :-)
everybody says they're cheap and safe and pretty reliable (so do I), but really the question is "... if you thought your flight would be cancelled and your holiday wrecked, as has just happened to thousands of people". Since I flew with them last month, I was nervous - I hadn't booked direct, it was part of a package, and both flights were okay as it turned out.

People aren't really updating their answers from what they would have said a month ago, maybe because they think it won't happen to them, which it probably won't.

All the same - In my case, not if I could fly Easyjet instead.
Tight fit...yep,admitted, gness.....but what fun eh? :-)

Long haul, of course x
You're on, Yogi!....Long haul fun would be bliss!....x
Stop hogging him gness!
there she was with SD this morning and now with Yogi :-)

Have never trusted Ryan Air, so no reason to trust them again. BA aren't that great either
You can sit on his knee on the way back, Patsy.... :-)

If I fly again, Albs I'll fly with them if it suits......what will be will be....just have some wine and shut off till I land......xxx
I`m not really sure what the "trust" issue is about. I wouldn`t trust an airline where I have issues about their safety. Ryanair have made a bit of a boob but then so have Monarch by going bust.
Was gutted about Monarch....I liked them a lot and never had a bad experience booking or checking in, and always a good flight( apart from some heavy, bumpy turbulence over Spain one time, and noticed a nun praying in the row next to mine)
Alright then :-(
Yes, sad about Monarch and the people who will lose their jobs.
well, there's also "would you trust them to bother to actually fly", 237SJ. BA and most other airlines do this without cancelling thousands of flights at short notice
Yogi, you should have avoided the tapas and paella :--)
the only time I have flown them was Stansted to Cork and they were 4 hours late.....Avis had left the keys for the car with security and the beachside hotel out near Whitegate Refinery were brilliant. We got there about 11pm.... "Now you two, go to your rooms and drop your luggage and I'll pour you a couple of pints each - and the kitchen has laid some supper on for you."

Guinness and a plate of Irish soda bread with smoked salmon and salad and suddenly faith in the world was restored.
Jno - I think the Ryanair situation is a bit of a one off.
Would have thought with 140 Ryan pilots having migrated to the Norwegian Blue Parrot Line and all the rest as to support staff, there would be plenty of jobs for Monarch staff...... though it may be from the frying pan to the fire as, brand-wise, talk about fist in the mouth or is that foot?

I have heard that things are so bad at Ryan Air that the auto-pilots are now refusing to fly.
Evening sqwerty,

outI don't think I ate much on that flight, it was constant for about 45 minutes.....having Maria from The Sound Of Music praying most of the time was a little distracting.....I remember when the pilot came on and announced we were out of the turbulence, thought she was going to have an org.....errrm, maybe not, Yogi, eh? :-)
I didn't have any choice other than Ryanair when I lived in France, so I used them a lot. Mostly they were OK, although at one point it was so stupid that we were unzipping cases, shoving a handbag inside, going through check-in then unzipping cases again and extracting handbags!
I remember one flight where everyone in the queue started 'baa-ing'!

Shortly afterwards, the rules were relaxed - although I saw one hysterical woman sobbing when her bag didn't fit by about 1/4". Once, I bought a Magner's cider and was asked if would like ice. My response was, 'Only if it's free' - to which the attendant's response was 'Whatever you do, don't put that into his head!'

Flew EasyJet this Summer, by preference over Ryanair even though it cost a smidgeon more - worth it.
I can`t imagine Monarch staff would want to go to Ryanair. They wouldn`t want to lose their Command and go back into the right hand seat. They will probably hold out to see if they are taken over or will go to Middle East carriers.
Monarch flew Airbus and Ryanair flies Boeing so Monarch pilots can't instantly fill in at Ryanair. It's more likely they'd find a place at another Airbus airline.
