Lots of squares in Alicante have the most amazing trees. Absolutely huge, with enormous roots above ground.
In a small way they reminded me of mangrove swamp trees but obviously they were not deeply embedded in water.
The leaves looked like a rubber plant. Anyone any ideas??

Mulberry?
The roots may be described as Butress Roots ... if you just google that you will propably find and image like a tree found in a swamp.
If you google odd trees in Alicante some things do come up- looks like it's the Kapok (Ceiba) tree.
I have seen them and they are fabulous. They are rubber trees.....google rubber trees Alicante and check out the images of them
