Good Morning Early Birds!

Thursday. The sky is clearer this morning. I went for a wee walk, quite pleasent out.

Up to the hospice this morning. Always a pleasure. So I shall be away at eight.
Tomorrow is the Solstice Walk. I hope it stays dry for that, so much money gets raised.

Tiggy was out, supper and back to bed as it rained most of the night.

I'm still breathing and annoying the neighbours. ;o} Still busy on the canal, the charter season has started and it's shaping up to be a good one. We have some new crews recently qualified, so I can stand back a bit and nor do quite so much. I handed over the managers job some years ago, when Vera had cancer the first time.

The restoration is going well, a lot slower than we would like, but it's the old story, lack of money.

I have a half day at the hospice that did such a wonderful job of looking after Vera, and, indeed, me. The Solstice Walk tomorrow evening is good fundraiser for them, I'm a marshal seeing the walkers safely across the road. There is food and drinks at the hospice when the walkers get back, for the marshals too!

The Solstice Walk comprises of two routes across Minchinhampton Common, 10 Kilometres or 5 kilometres, everyone is sponsored, including many dogs too!

:o} They should all be back by about 9, they usually are. Once the last ones have passed me on the way back I can stand down and go and get a drink and a burger or something.

Gotta get the strimmer oot later...tis a tad noisey...my daughter has taken the lawn mower to Pennypants...deep joy!!! Sweet neighbour who likes my cooking !!!bless her ...offered to get her gardener to cut the postage stamp of a lawn...he charges £12.50 it takes him serveral minutes...he has a nice smile...!!!

Morning all !

A clear and dry night, but starting to look cloudy. I have a meeting n Bristol today, and unusually for me, I am going by train !

Its a fairly simple journey....only one change at Cardiff, but things have a habit of going wrong, when I am on a train, so fingers crossed !
