Well according to this Labour MP the 185,000 concerned citizens who signed this Parliamentary petition are nothing more than 'BIGOTS'

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/607285/Parliamentary-Petition-Labour-Muslim-Steve-McCabe-MP-Birmingham

An upcoming Commons debate - which will last for three hours - has been scheduled after the document received more than 100,000 signatures.

/// The debate follows a pledge in the Conservative manifesto before the 2010 general election that any petition signed by more than 100,000 people will be eligible for debate in parliament. ///

/// But Labour MP Steve McCabe slammed the notion of a Commons debate on the subject ///

Gordon Brown was big on spotting bigots.
I've reproduced the full text of the petition below, so that people can judge for themselves:

The UK government need to prevent immigrants from entering the UK immediately! We MUST close all borders, and prevent more immigrants from entering Britain. Foreign citizens are taking all our benefits, costing the government millions! Many of them are trying to change UK into a Muslim country!

If the Government does not do anything, then Britain may take in 12 million more immigrants by 2060. There is footage of foreigners destroying British soldiers graves, which is a huge disrespect to us. Sign this petition to show the government what they need to do!

It's passed 191,000 signatures since the Express article came out.

Well Labour do have previous when it comes to actively encouraging Immigration
Well, having read the text of the petition. Yes, they are bigots.

Where can I sign?
//Yes, they are bigots. //

Why?
Sign me up for it !
And they wonder why they're finished.
from the Oxford Dictionary of Right on thinking: Bigot..: anyone who does not agree with the prescribed view on any given subject.
I agree with TheChair here. the petition is clearly bigoted and is full on inaccuracies :::

"Foreign citizens are taking all our benefits"....well, no they are not. Most benefits paid out in Britain every week goes to old age pensioners, not immigrants. The majority of the rest is paid out to our long term unemployed and disabled.

This sort of nonsense is the same that is spouted out by the far-left, like the BNP, EDL and Britain First, amongst others.

/// "Foreign citizens are taking all our benefits"....well, no they are not. Most benefits paid out in Britain every week goes to old age pensioners, not immigrants. ///

So I take it thart there are no immigrant old age pensioners, who most have paid little or nothing into the pot.

/// The majority of the rest is paid out to our long term unemployed and disabled. ///

Once again almost the same reply as above.

/// This sort of nonsense is the same that is spouted out by the far-left, like the BNP, EDL and Britain First, amongst others. ///

Blimey things have changed the BNP, EDL and Britain First, are far-left.

But whoever spouted it out they are bang on the nail.
For far-left, please read far-right...its been a long day.

Go and have a lie down lad.

Mikey, are you saying The Old Age Pension is a Benefit?

///State Pension gives you a regular income once you reach State Pension age. It is based on National Insurance contributions and the amount you get depends on how much you paid in.///

http://www.ageuk.org.uk/money-matters/pensions/state-pension/
The appeasment of adherents, moderate and rabid, of the religion of peace is clearly the best and possibly the only way to ensure stability for our country in future years.
It's been employed in the past with great success so why should it result in drama and conflict this time.
No chance of further pressures being brought to bear for greater concessions in future either I'm sure.
Debatable point I think, Baldric. The peretiremnet pension does depend on how much you pay in, but it not in direct proportion. Some on lower incomes pay in smallish amounts for sufficient years and get the same state pension as those who paid in significantly more as the state pension is capped. There are winners and losers in that sense. Someone who earns less than £25000 a year over 40 years probably draws more out than they pay in NI; whereas someone averaging £40000 a year for 40 years draw much less than they paid in.

But as for the original petition I think it is inaccurate and I wouldn't sign up for it in thos eterms

Don't happen to know what Mikeys answer is do you FF?

Well, it wasn't drafted by Jefferson, was it, Jim? Or even a Cambridge-educated physicist.

Anyway, what's factually right and what wrong with the petition? See whether you agree or disagree with me about the following:

Immigrants are taking "all" our benefits at a cost of millions. FALSE: they're taking a disproportionately large share of them. Also, the arithmetic is miles out.
Many of them are trying to turn UK into a Muslim country. TRUE.
Britain may take in 12 million by 2060. FALSE: at last year's rate of over 500,000 (making no assumptions about birth rate and overseas dependants who may choose to join them) then the date is 2040 at the latest.
Desecration by foreigner of soldiers' graves. FALSE: the only people I've seen showing nastiness to British soldiers have all been home-grown.
