Amsterdam - cheap or expensive

Hi. We are going for a couple of nights and was wondering what the costs are out there, for eating & drinking and the like? TIA

Try down near the docks - that's where the Dutch tend to go and it is cheaper than the tourist traps. If the Circle tram is on then it's an excellent way of getting about and passes nearly all of the major sights - I think it is number 18.
