We are both in our 60s and would like to go to Crete in October. Where should we go. We don't want nightclubs just nice places to eat out and pleasant walks.

Without a doubt Koutalafari loads of tavernas and restaraunts no night clubs . We enjoyed a stay there last year there are a few small hills around the main resort but nothing to drastic and it won,t be too hot for walking in october.

Either Chania or Georgeopolis are my favourites. Chania is a fairly large town but very beautiful and does not have the busy nightlife. Georgeopolis is small, quiet, friendly with plenty of nice tavernas and good walks. Both have good bus routes so you can explore further if you want to.

elounda is a small fishing village, with enough restaurants to keep you going, although in Oct it might be a little too quiet.
