Recovered from serious error

I am running XP Pro.

A few weeks ago my scanner decided to crash my system and cause it to reboot instantly - no log out or shut down or any warning.

Since then, everytime I switch on it tells me that the system has recovered from a serious error, and asks if I want to tell microsift (I always say no).

As far as I can tell, nothing is wrong and everything works perfectly, even the scanner. Is there any way I can stop this message appearing every time I load windows?

i got something similar also when a cd programme i installed crashed. After I used windows update, this error message went away. Also, remove and reinstall your scanner software to see if this works.
If you go to Control Panel> Performance & Maintenance and select "System", you can turn off error reporting on the "Advanced" tab.
