I have bought TV with Freeview built in, but it can only find Channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & CBeebies. I did have a freeview box & a standard TV which was fine but why would the new TV only find a handful of channels?

Different TVs and Freeview boxes have different 'sensitivities' (i.e.their abilities to handle weak signals). Your aerial is only providing a fairly weak signal, which the Freview box could work with but your TV can't.

You need to upgrade your aerial system. Ideally that means installing a better aerial AND new cabling (which can be nearly as important). This aerial works well in the vast majority of locations:

For very weak signal areas this is better:

However, given that your aerial provided sufficient signal strength for your Freeview box, it might be worth trying a cheap aerial amplifier (under £8 from Asda) first.
