Virus

Hi hope someone out there can help point me in the right direction! Something has got into my PC and is firing off e-mails to everyone in my address book. Mailer Daemon is catching a lot but some are getting delivered. Have been deleting then deleting the deleted by the rate of sending seems to be stepping up now daily.

Any advice really appreciated.

are they actually sending them from your computer, ie are there copies in your sent items box? sometimes these things just rip you address book and leave, the emails re sent from elsewhere

Hi Wolfgang thanks for your reply. Yes there were copies in my sent box so I guess they went from my PC. Have changed my password and hope that will do the trick as there was nothing amiss last night or this morning!

What anti-malware software do you use, if any...?

Hi Markrae. Have the firewall and anti virus that was already installed on PC when I got it. There have still been no more e-mails fired off so have fingers crossed that its now blocked. Very scary tho. Many thanks for your interest.
