converting file formats

video clips taken with my camera have the extension .mov which I can neither watch on my PC nor send as email attachment. Anybody know an easy way to convert to .avi or jpeg?

You can watch them on your PC if you install Quicktime. I can't imagine any reason why you can't send them by e-mail. Assuming that you haven't set your e-mail client to disallow attachments, then you can send any type of file.
You can also use Free Mov2Avi to convert them to avi files.

The files might be too big to send via email.

Depending how long the clip is, it might be larger than the 10MB or so file size limit that many email providers have.
