I'm looking for a home study course to learn how to diagnose faulty pc's, generally learn more about networks etc. Does anyone know any reputable companies that offer such courses? I guess MS Certification would be the way to go. I do have an understanding of PC's and have been building then for years but now I want the proper qualifications to enable me to work in this area.

Hello Justin, As far as I know, Microsoft do not do hardware accreditation.

Try your local authority or university - they often run accredited courses in the evening. Just google adult education & your area to find out what courses are being run.

other than manufacturers own accreditation comp Tia do the + accreditations (a+ network+ server+)
MS accreditation is 2 part ... they do helpdesk type courses and MCSE (which is renewable)
cisco have CCNA/CCNP .... and honestly... unless you have a job already you are staking a lot of money on hope
I let my MCSE(t) and CCNA lapse because I stopped teaching them ... because the majority of our customers stopped using them.
forget home study ... something like MCSE needs intensive study ... and someone to guide
If you can follow Jugglering's advice ... look for sponsored courses
