Hi AB's, Is it best to leave my combi boiler on say 17 degrees to tick over all the time to stop my apartment from getting really cold when I'm not at home which is some 12 hours a day or is it best to put it on timer to come on before I wake up and before I get home in the evening. Which is more efficient way and of course the cheapest?

regarding the cost try one week mon to fri with both combinations read the meter obviously before you start either test take into account if you cook by gas see which uses more, for comfort leaving it ticking over i think would be the better option

I have found that by leaving it on all day you will burn less gas, because if you have it on timer twice a day,the boiler is having to heat the whole of the apartment from cold twice daily,
