How do I turn off Mcafee so I can load a printer on my laptop? Help! Thank you.

Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
Go into the Task Manager.
Use 'End Task' to close all applications associated with McAfee. (If in doubt about whether a program is part of McAfee close it anyway. You only need to leave Explorer, and possibly Systray, running. To restart everything, simply reboot your PC).

but why do you need to - drivers should install without stopping the security

how else can it stop you loading a bug infested package?
