I'm looking for a neutral website that would give reviews on laptops for use at home. I'm prepared to spend up to 500.00 and want a good laptop for photographic and video editing.

So far i've checked out the Dell Inspiron 1525 and the Dell Studio 15, but i'd like to see how these stack up against other laptops on the market.

Thanks.

If you are going to use it at home, you will get a much higher spec and much bigger screen if you buy a desktop.

Laptops are great - desktops are better especially for video editing.

Is there any possibility of you using a desktop?

I'm using a desktop now, but i could do with the extra room i will get when i remove the computer table and chair. I want to put a dining table and chairs in it;s place.

Thanks CheekyChick, i'll take a look on there now.
Agree with Ethel, if you want to mainly use it for video and photo editing then if possible get a desktop.

Or if it has to be a laptop and you really are mainly interested in video editing consider a mac book.

Some-one else said that to me as well today. Never had one and scared of spending lots of money on somethign i have never used before incase i don't like it.
I have a Dell D620 and my daughter has the latest Mac.

For your purposes I recommend the Mac laptop. Much faster, more features, reading & burning CDs & DVDs. Wonderful graphics and applications. And fast as light with huge memory.
Touch screen activity and great speakers.
go to your local PC world and have a play with one for a bit, they are great machines and for video editing far far surpass a windows based machine.

How do they compare like for like price wise though?
