Upside Down

Our daughter (she's 7) was recently using our portable DVD player and brought it to me saying that the picture on it was upside down.

When I set it up for her and started the DVD everything was fine, but she says she may have pressed a button on it by accident, but she does't know what, but sure enough, now all DVDs I put in do play upside down.

We have to turn the whole thing upside down to view the picture correctly which, of course, is a simple solution, but I'd like to know how to correct what's happened to the DVD player. Any ideas?

I bought it second hand a year ago, never had a problem with it until now and, before you suggest reading the instructions, the previous owner lost the booklet.

I'm really stumped. I've tried pressing all the buttons, but no joy. Is there an easy fix?

If you know what model it is, try googling for the manual.

I saw a recent post elsewhere on this subject and this is what was advised

To rotate the DVD screen display, hold down the MODE button or DISPLAY MODE button (depends on model) while a DVD is playing to turn the picture right-side up.

Hope it helps

Rtaxron - My wife suggested only watching Australian DVDs so you've a similar sense of humour!

wildwood - Too much watching Ricky Gervais, methinks!

squarebear - was about to try this, but...

...pauln90 - that worked! Fantastic! Incidentally it works with or without a DVD inserted, I've since found.

The mode button has to be depressed for approximately 3 seconds. Some accidental pressing by my daughter that was!

Another question now : any suitable actions recommended against 7 year old fibbers???

No help on that one Dusty. Sorting out a techie problem is a doddle compared to handling a 7yr old!

Most of them can run rings around grown-ups so you you're in for a bumpy ride......Fun though. lol
