Old negatives

I have a box of old negatives and would like to know how long it will be in this digital age before having negatives printed will be an obsolete method?

To some extent it is, isn't it - how many people actually use film nowadays, and if you do use film, you'll always have negatives.

I doubt it ever will be .... over 150 years worth of photography isn't going to vanish any time soon

many people still make a photo into exactly the same medium in exactly the same way (as in printing them on paper)
most scanners theses days will cope with negatives ... maybe the chemicals and old hardware will vanish
But I doubt that the ability to deal with negatives will ever disappear it's the CD/DVD and memory cards that will end up in he back of a drawer with nothing able to read them.

how many people yo you know who are still able to view their phillips video2000 tapes?
