When I click on the list of messages, my emails now take up the full screen. How can I restore the setting whereby the message appears in a small box?

In the top right-hand corner of the window, click on the middle button - the one which shows two windows, one behind the other Or do you mean that you've lost the preview pane? In that case, go to "View" in the menu items across the top of the screen, select "Layout" and put a tick against "Show preview pane" If I've misunderstood you, please come back

Hi, When I used to open outlook express, there would be a list of messages in the inbox. When I clicked on a message, a "box" opened centre screen displaying the message. There was then the opportunity to maximumise it using the top right buttons. Now, I have to double click to open a message, and it then takes up the full screen. Similarly when I reply, the full screen is taken, whereas before, the box would open. It's a bit like the preview pane, but not exactly ... Thanks Andrew
I've been trying to reproduce what you describe, to no avail. When a message opens, what is the centre box of the top three showing? If it is showing the single window symbol, the screen can be re-sized. I'm probably suggesting things that you've already tried. :-)
