in this boozy culture it seems that some people go out on a friday night with the sole intention of getting completely hammered!

no not now, but back in 1978/79/80 when i lived on a RAF base and used to go to the club on the camp, then that was everyone's intention and the booze was so cheap too cos the MOD subsidised it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mean i love a good drink now and then and have had a hangover too many times but it's never something i set out to do, if i get drunk it's cos i'm having a blast and just get carried away by the party vibe.

Having said yes, I never drink to the point of throwing up or anything, but sometimes after a hard week or your birthday you just need to let loose.

I might have a few drinks but i dont see the point in getting drunk to the point where you cant even remember going out! but each to their own x

myriad - some people can - usually i am designated driver (cos although I enjoy a good drink it doesn't bother me if i stick to soft drink all night either) ...and i must say its lots of fun reminding my mates of their antics the following morning :-)

I hardly ever go out and I don't drink at home very often but when I do go out I hate getting really drunk, I hate that feeling of having no control and I hate feeling so tired the next day. I had a slightly scary experience once when I was off my tits ****** so I don't do it now. Last time I went out and got really drunk I ended up walking out of the pub and getting a taxi home on my own, leaving my mate in the pub not knowing where I was. Then I was sick on myself which is always a bad sign. But as soon as I got in I took my top off and washed it in the sink :) I can't handle my drink as well as I could before I had a baby.
