On tonight Silent Witness, one of the pathologists used his hand to drag photos from a folder to open them on a wall sized screen. He also restored a crossed off name. Does this technology really exist?

Didn't see it, so I may be off-base (!) but most schools have "interactive whiteboards" many of which can be controlled by using one's hand as a mouse. You can definitely get touch-controlled flatscreen motiors too. Whether a pathology department is likely to have such funding is another question...
Yes there are quite a few interactive white boards at my school. They are very expensive and we very rarely even get to use them!

Wow! Can't wait it! looks like so much more fun than a mouse.
I watch C.S.I. a lot, and although the touch screen technology, combined with a video wall is a real technlogy, some of their reconstructive stuff, like signatures or photo enhancing is a bit too CGI ...
