Well, my Compaq has buttons on the front which access various onscreen menus..........one of which is to adjust the height..........yours will certainly have something similar....commoner

do the lines actually obscure what is displayed or is it just 'squashed up' ?

if the lines obscure the display then it may be a dodgy connection, bad display adapter or more likely the monitor is shot.

if its squashed up then as commoner says buttons on the front of the monitor should take you to a menu to adjust vertical height.

Hi

You could also check that the correct display driver is installed and that the scan rates of the driver are set. This does affect the border of the visible picture on your monitor. Display>advanced>settings.

Hope this helps
