I have a 3MB Broadband connection, but for some reason it disconnects about every 2 minutes for about 20 seconds. It is somethingto do with my laptop because when I plug my other laptop into thesame broadband connetion, I dont have any problems. This is really getting annoying, especially when I want to purchase something online whereyou have to go through several screens, only to get chucked out at the last minute because the page cannot be found.I dont actually think I get disconnected because when I check my connection it still shows everything is ok.I have run spybot & adaware, and they have come back clean.

problem is related to power management, to check the windows setting for this, go to control panel, system properties, hardware and then click device manager, in here you will have network adapters, click the plus and you should have your modem, double click it, then click power management, and untick the box reading "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" then also go to universal serial bus controllers click plus and do the same on each of the "usb root hub"s that have that option, if that doesn't work then the problem must lie with the computers usb ports themselves, try maybe a different port, other than that there would be nothing i'm aware you can do for a laptop. hope this helps, if you want any further info e-mail my son [email protected] who will be happy to help :)
