if you don't choose smart phone you can still have a old style phone for calls and texts
Definitely laptop.

I can't get on with tablets.
Desktop every time, with a large screen....I use a 32 inch monitor here at home.

Laptop second, again with a large screen.

Tablets are just expensive toys as far as I am concerned.

But I would be lost without my iphone 6 !
Laptop without a seconds thought
Laptop.

Mikey - My tablet is used the same way my laptop is it's just smaller and more portable.
Ummmm....glad you are happy with it, but I will stick to my desktop !
You can't take the desktop on holiday though :-)

To be fair I prefer the desktop to work from. The laptop is for me playing on the internet and OH uses the tablet mainly except when we're away and then we share it.
laptop - none of the others fit my overall needs
iPad Pro. (That's a tablet).

I hardly touch the others since I got the iPad Pro.
Can you swipe type on it, Gromit?

I was surprised the iphone doesn't have that option.
Is that the massive one Gromit? How are you getting on with it? Seems too large in a lot of ways, but maybe that's based on some imaginary use case that wouldn't really happen.

I would go for a nice laptop cheers, tandh.
Laptop without a shadow of doubt and I'm surprised how many others have said the same. Two major issues for my reasons - screen size and not having to use fingers for everything (I use a mouse).
(Not strictly true, I use my Smartphone a lot)
My son uses my smart phone a lot blumming pokemon hunting!
My Kindle!
ABEditor,

My iPad stays in my home 90% of the time, so I rarely transport it anywhere much. I have an iMac which I mainly use for design work, and an old Mac Pro in my workstation office. I stopped using a laptop in 2010 when I got the 1st Gen iPad.

The iPad Pro was just less tha a grand, but I have earned £2K with it since December, so it has more than paid for itself.
Desk top and my ten year old mobile. which does have internet but never use it, (It's a bit crap for that) I don't like being contacted 24/7 so it's sometime's switched off which means I'm busy. Much to the annoyance of some I might add.
Desk top. Proper computer with proper keyboard an proper monitor.

Laptops and tablets are nowhere near as ungradeable and changeable and less easy to use. Tend to have lower specs too.

Smart phones are frustrating and slow, but useful; but I can go back to a non-smart one with minimal irritation.

ooh my first answer from the a b editor :-O
for me it's my laptop, mainly becasue i can use it in bed and takeit with me. I am also comfortable sitting at a table with it if i have to do a lot of typing up on it.
Saying that though i love my smart phone for looking up bits of information and having access to my emails when i'm out - although it drives me crazy trying to do anything lengthy on it.
A question for anyone who voted for a tablet - do you not find it hard to type on such a small screen? i would hate typing a page or two of a word document on them

A Phablet.
