It came round really quickly for me and I'm not retired!!
Actually that's probably as I have loads to do this weekend.

I packed it in 2 years ago just before my 63rd, find days just kind of run into one another, the W/end doesn't seem to be special anymore, not a problem, just saying.

Northampton used to be my 2nd home on a Frid Ummmm, I was on the way home after been away all week, lamplighters ( As you know) a few others then end up in the Working men's club just nr the Mounts, good old days.
Lamplighter is thriving now. They do excellent food.
like Baldric, I never even notice the days any more. Unless you have regular appointments like church on Sunday or konga on Wednesday, they're all much the same.
jno...mine is all about Saturday Kitchen/Sunday Brunch :-)
ummmm, I once went to hospital after fainting; they wanted to check if I'd had a stroke, so every couple of hours they'd ask me "What day of the week is it?" And I had no idea, which wasn't much help.
I am retired and the days blend into one another. Some days I wake up and wonder what day is this!!!!
Despite being retired, there is still lots to do and I still don't have enough time!!
Lol, jno, my uncle was rushed into hospital once. They thought he was confused as when they asked him who was our queen was he kept answering "we don't have a queen"

After about 3 times asking, and me translating, I had to remind them he was Irish :-)
Time flies like an arrow: Fruit flies like a banana.
I retired when I was 40. I am now 53. The civil service paid me to leave.

Fridays no longer have the same happy feeling and trying to work out sell by/eat by dates in Tesco are difficult when you have no idea what day today is.

^^^^Yeah Wolfe I have that problem too. Dates are meaningless these days.
Often seen in other threads, our friend 237sj, who is a flight attendant, will attest to the phenomena experienced by nearly all we flight crews; that being, waking up in the morning in the middle of a three or four day duty period and trying to remember where the heck I am.

I've often looked around the motel/hotel room trying to get a clue from the décor, but finally looking at the logo/address on the hotel furnished note pad on the night stand for the correct information. Sometimes it's quite disconcerting...
Clanad, and you expect people to fly on a plane flown by a pilot who had no idea what country he/she wakes up in?

:-)
Breakfast clears all that up, wolf...
I like Friday. It's the only day of the week when I don't have to go somewhere or do something pre-planned. My week is very full. Friday is my free day.
In the end, its not the years in your life that count.
Its the life in your years.

Abraham Lincoln.
Very true, Chip. :-)
I've not retired and I find its Monday that comes around really quickly.Or more specifically my most hated time of the week 10pm on a Sunday night.
