On Oct 10th....Bella....a much loved dog was stolen from outside the little Tesco in our town....

The effort the owners put into finding her was just amazing and today....

.....my lover who doesn't know he is has just announced on the radio that Bella has been found!

The owners are on the way to collect her from Bristol....

I'm not the biggest dog lover in the world but I'm so happy for them.....and for Bella.....☺

Great news!!
I am against capital punishment but if someone ever steals one of my hounds I would insist on it!!
Almost as pleasing as Scruff being reunited with Linda.
I think that people who have never had a furry master realise jut how important they are and how much they are loved (apart from my two who are driving me nuts this morning).

When a dog or cat is stolen there is always the possibility that it has been stolen for dog fighting purposes - or breeding.

I see on facebook that a German shepherd who was in a van when it was stolen has been found. I presume that it wasn't a guard dog!
(Scruff is Linda's dog in The Archers, by the way)

'Tis great news, Ratter......even more pleasing, Hoppy......but I do know about Scruff....☺

No idea why Bella was stolen, Wolf......happened in seconds while the owner popped in for a bar of chocolate.....hope she's well....x
Like Ratter, if anybody was to try to steal my little Willy would find my hands around his throat ( the robber, not little Willy ! )
gness, I thought that the story sounded familiar. I shared it on FB in October. She is a beautiful dog and I am glad that she is home.

Mikey - how old is your dog? - I gave the wording of that some thought before typing it.

I would never leave a dog tied up outside a supermarket, this is what can happen if you do. Why can't people leave their dogs at home when out shopping ??? So glad it had a happy outcome this time.
Wolfie...he is 13 this March. He is showing his age these days and he has the beginnings of some cataracts . But he is still very perky and makes his presence known, as anyone with a Yorkie will understand !
A lovely story. I'm glad she's safe.
and this how easy it is to steal dogs, this is in china apparently, another source says it is in Europe, either way it is scary.

That made me laugh, Wolf!!!...☺

Seems the owner popped in for a bar of chocolate returning home from a walk....I think, Viv......but yes, a lesson....x

Very long way, Ael....and she may have been in Wales too....will be interesting to know how she was found....x

That's awful, Ratter.....and done in seconds.... :-(

Hi, Tilly.....☺
Hi, Gness. Just popped in whilst having a coffee. Off out in a minute or two.

Nice to 'see' you. x

And you, Tilly.....off out myself soon...to deliver Christmas presents! Couldn't be done at Christmas and as it's lots of choc and cake he's lucky I haven't eaten them.....taken some will power I can tell you!
That's wonderful news, gness.

I've seen the posters all over the local towns and villages - but had begun to think that they were all going to be in vain.

Shows the value of microchipping - not only because it got Bella reunited with her family, but also it will have made her pretty much 'unsellable' as the first visit to a Vet would have revealed her identity.
Are your lover's initials [who doesn't know he is] S F ;-))

BTW, I'm glad the dog has been reunited with his rightful owners!
This is not an unusual case - there are dozens of dogs stolen from outside shops - see the DogLost website - please remind any dog owning friends and family not to do this - its just not worth it. I always stay and make a fuss of any dog I see tied up outside a shop till the owners come out and tell them how easy it would have been for me to have taken their dog - some get a bit nasty with me but if it makes them think its worth it.
