I am now running W10. I personally prefer it to W8.1 which I was on. If you did reserve it, you will be told when ready to download. You have 1 month/30 days to revert back to what you were on if you found you didn't like it.
Up to you. Personally I'd wait a while. If you do a websearch you'll find the very very very annoying pop-up is due to an update, and how to locate and uninstall it.
i find it very easy to use and with chrome as an search engine very fast as is start up and shut down, no complaints after the first 3 days of little niggles finding your way round it, im keeping it (laptop is Toshiba satellite 850)
The overrriding feeling seems to be positive and no significant reports of difficult problems with compatibility. When you are ready to give it a go do the following - backup all your personal pics, videos, documents etc and favourites / bookmarks and keep tapping windows update until all the non Windows 10 updates are finished. Then go here and register
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/features
Once thats done 2 simple steps will get it done - post again and I`ll put them down in plain step by step English.
You have a year to update for "free" so no need to rush.

I would wait if I were you.

uk bod sounds complecated think ill stick with windows 7
tezmand......stay with windows 7 !!.... I have been using windows 10 for the past two weeks...and there are problems. I have installed the four updates microsoft have issued but still issues..as you would expect. It will take weeks for a piece of software like this to 'settle down'. I can understand people using windows 8 changing....but stay with 7 for a while longer.
well ive downloaded all my updates not single problem whats your issues ?
Windows 10 is excellent. Seems much faster and more intuitive than 8.

The only thing I have noticed is that in the mail app there is no longer a facility to flag something as spam or when your friend has been hacked.
Otherwise I'd go for it. The install took about 45 minutes.
I've updated all my machines, including my ancient netbook that was running W7 Starter and no problems anywhere, at all
VHG. Are you sure it is 'free' for a year? The popup I keep getting says 'free a limited time only'.
You can update to W10 for nothing until 28th July 2016.
Thanks for that hc.
