ukbod2015. Thanks for your patience & quick replies, it will take me a while to backup, I will get back to you soon as I can. Ron.
No problem - its always a good habit to get into

ukbod2015. From the link you kindly submitted it would appear that Windows Explorer 11 is necessary for the W10 app download. I have never used WinEx, & am having difficulty opening it & trying to get the WinEx11 upgrade. My present browser is Mozilla Seamonkey & I am also running Panda PC security.

Why not just stick with Windows 7, it is perfectly good at the job.?
You dont actually need a particular browser - assuming you followed my earlier link and have registered and completed your backups - can you see the 4 little white window logo on your bottom right task bar.
The media creation tool, for which I provided the link on 29th July, will do the upgrade without having to wait for any app.
With no disrespect to yourself or Ron the way I am offering only has 2 relatively simple stages - media creation is not the easiest thing to do.
Had the upgrade as I bought a new Asus in June...my pc man kept me on the old driver with W7 until 10 became available - thereby avoiding exposure to 8.

Had it done yesterday, the installment of the new driver, file transfer and 10 installation. In keyboard, it's brilliant, the speed of reaction far improved and little discernible change - my issue being, and needing some coaching, how to go into tablet mode, not that this really matters. I appreciate the speed and may see if this Cantona function works or whatever they call it......
It was very simple because there was no need to burn any images or anything like that - you just need a memory stick plugged in, it writes all the necessary files to that and just run the setup from that USB (unless I'm misremembering the details).
DTC - tablet mode. Click the notification icon bottom right near the clock then click the 'tablet mode' tile

Just to bring you up to date guys. I began to form the opinion that my problem lay with my outdated desktop computer ( Dell 3 or4 years old) so I have discontinued using it & substituted my more updated Samsung laptop which I had stored in a cupboard having bought a mini ipad to use instead. Having now connected & wired up the laptop ( using my dell larger monitor) it immediately downloaded 58 Window updates one of which is the missing W10 app ( bottom right of screen) so all is now well with your invaluable help on Answerbank, thanks very much.
