Have you logged out of the program before trying to uninstall it?
Have you tried un-installing whilst in 'safe mode'? Anything running in the background showing in Windows Task Manager?
I think it might help folk to know what programme you are trying to uninstall.

The 'on-screen' message in your tinypic makes reference to an installation of an O2 app and the Fatal error suggests a failure of an update.

Thanks for your answers guys. You are quite correct Hans, it is that very same App I am trying to uninstall. I downloaded it to my PC in order to find out all about it as it was interesting for me to discover that it would enable me to use it through O2 on my mobile phone ( where we live there is absolutely NO signal whatsoever) I now have the app on my 'phone which works great through my b/band wifi but obviously I do not require the facility to run my computer & wish to uninstall it.
As others have suggested, it looks like the program is running in the background from the moment you boot up. (You can't uninstall a running program).

Solution 1 (as suggested by SA):
Boot into Safe Mode (by pressing F8) and try uninstalling from there.

Solution 2 (as hinted at by SA):
Right-click on the Task Bar at the foot of your screen to access the Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab. Look for anything that appears to be related to the app you no longer require and terminate the process. Then try uninstalling.

Solution 3:
Run msconfig, go to the Startup list, remove the tick from the program to don't want to run, click Apply, reboot your computer and then uninstall.
