I have received notification from Virgin Media that from 1st February 2014 the price of my media services will increase by £3.00 per month.

Has anyone else received similar notification and are you prepared to pay that excessive increase or seek out another broadband provider?

When I signed up with them about three years ago it was because they were offering broadband, tv and phone for £20 a month. I asked how long the price would remain at that price and was told for as long as I stayed with them.

Since then it has increased about twice a year due to 'charges that were not included in that statement' or similar rubbish. I am now paying £32+ a month; rarely watch the tv and never make calls on their ridiculously expensive phone line.

One more increase and I become an ex-Virgin customer.

May I suggest that you do as we did. Change to Sky HD+ for 12 months then cancel & you retain the box & Ariel dish which you use for Freesat & we get all the channels we were watching before but now for FREE.

They all seem to do this.

sucker in a load of new customers...then up the charges....some leave but most stay, so they win in the end

I've had the same email but mine's going up by £5.50/month and doesn't say why or how that figure is broken down. Does make you think about changing.
triggs when that happens buy a Humax Freesat box & not only get the channels but also record on the Hard Drive.

Not everyone has the option of leaving - we don't have a BT phone line.
"we don't have a BT phone line. "

the cost of which has yet again risen

the sooner 4G 5G etc is useable and reasonably priced then BT know thier lines become history, unless another use is found for them

I have a land line for no other reason than Broadband and that alone, if i could ditch it tomorow for a decent and reliable mobile service I would
