Yes you can but you will need a wireless connection.
>>>>can you get on internet with a tablet

Well they would not be much use if you could not get on the internet !!

Sounds like you need to do some research before buying one.

Cheap tablets dont give you all the features of more expensive ones.

For example an Andriod tablet like Google Nexus (and others) can get to the App Store to download applications.

But some cheaper tablets CANT get to the app Store, making them far less useful.

There have been lots of new tablets announced and released recently so the market is changing all the time.

Buying a cheap tablet may be a false economy if it is not used, so make sure you do research on them before parting with your money.
Hello biglilypicker.

I,m using my new blackberry playbook tablet (£129 from pc world.. Reduced from £149)
It is a 7" screen, and can easily surf the net - with a wireless connection
May be just what you need
have you solved your cut and paste issue (for AB I presume), excel?
Maybe one of these would be suitable.

I would suggest sticking with the well known names and spending a little extra for reasons outline by VHG.
Not yet, DT
The Nexus is a bit smaller than you specified but is excellent, cheapish and can fit into a handbag with ease :)
Are you admitting to the use of manbag, then, Ed??

Don't be daft, Nibble, he stows everything in his wife's handbag for her to carry, like most men.
lol hc......

can anyone help excelsior with his issue of how to cut and paste on one?
What does he want to cut and past, dt? Links?
would think so, hc, as he did mention c&p to AB, to me, in a previous thread...
He needs to tap on the link then keep his finger on the link for a second or two. A box will pop up - touch 'copy'.

Where he wants to paste, tap in the appropriate place and hold for a second or two - touch 'paste'.
hopefully excel has seen that, thanks hc!

I "need" to get one.....
Mastered it now
watch out folk, excel is about!
HA-HA
I had a Kindle but as I only read books in bed it was no good to read in the dark when my OH was sleeping so I gave it to my sister.

I now see the new Nook Glowlight has a back light making [supposedly] possible to read in the dark http://tinyurl.com/d2otkky

Anyone got one or know if its any good please? Also where would I download books.

I want it just for reading books. don't want it for any other features.

Thankyou

DD
