E reader from Daily Mail rewards club

Has anyone purchased this with their points? I will have enough to buy it this week but wonder whether, for example, I will need to purchase an adaptor/charger for it separately and end up paying more than if I just went for a Kobo. And I assume that I can download library books on it, it supports TXT, PDF, EPUB, CHM, HTM, FB2, HTML, LRC, RTF, MOBI E-Book format and Adobe DRM protected books. Would be grateful for any info or advice

I was really interested in this until the mail website said it did not accept e-books bought from Amazon at which point I lost all interest. I will probably use my points to buy giftcards (not very imaginative I know). I tend to shop more at Sainsbury's now and can use Nectar points on Amazon's website so I am inclined to buy a Kindle and E-books from Amazon in the future. By all means go for this item, I am not an expert on these things at all and am simply giving an opinion from my own point of view. It was simply the non-Amazon bit which put me off.

Thanks boingboing for that - I buy a lot of my books from charity shops so am not really interested in paying more to get them from Amazon, so that bit doesn't bother me. The Mail online shop sells a binatone e reader, they have confirmed to me that this is the same one as offered with reward points, but say that they cannot tell me whether it will download from libraries or not so I am no further on. My husband tells me to forget getting one on the cheap and buy a Kobo or Sony, which we know can download library books but I am not sure whether I will take to an e reader so I am reluctant to actually hand over cash for one - I know that doesn't make sense, I should change my points in Tesco vouchers and use the saved money in W H Smiths and done with

The device on offer for 8000 points is a Pandigital (U.S. company) 7" Novel multi media eReader/tablet. I got one and have sent it back. I have an email from Pandigital stating it no longer offers support for this device, the company is in liquidation and is no longer in business. Also, it is not wi-fi friendly (doesn't like it). The one free book I managed to download could not be opened and caused the device to crash repeatedly. Best avoided.
