Hi I would like to put a column on the far right of my report where I can put reference points such as B2 or A1 (only 2 letters in any one line). I have created 2 columns on a ducument but cant seam to write in the right hand side one?

If you are using a document with column(s) then the second column will only be used when you have filled up the first one. What would be easier for you to do is to create a table which has two columns (the second being fairly narrow and with right alingment so that the text in column is to the far right). That way you can correctly line up your references with your narrative. Then remove the grid lines and you will have the document you are looking for.
or you can use text boxes
forgot to say if you must use columns then to use the second column before filling the first just insert a column break
