My son has researched some deals and he reckons we are changing from BT to someone else, this may be from this week sometime apparently, he has more faith in the process than I do. If I am not here I haven't gone off in a huff I may well just be screaming at Talk Talk or someone similar.

Apparently, as we are on a former Local Authority estate which is now run by a housing association, broardband from Talk Talk is free to every household on the estate. So he reckons.
i used talk talk when i got a new comp.............so far no problems !
anything free is not normally worth the cost
Question Author
My daughter uses them and they are excellent, BT are very very expensive, we're paying £60 a month which is daft, that's for broardband, BT vision and the phoneline, but the BT vision is rubbish and we use the built in freeserve mainly.
Question Author
no potsdog my daughter's broardband is free from Talk Talk and it is excellent,
Question Author
sorry 'postdog' lol
I was generalising. I also have a personal motto of if it isn't broke, don't try to fix,but that's just me.
Good luck on getting rid of BT , it ended up a nightmare for me when we changed to virgin
Question Author
it's just the cost that is getting ridiculous with BT, compared to other providors, I wish we had the fibre optic here
I considered changing to talktalk, even got as far as their router being delivered but I phoned BT and said that if they could do me a deal then I would stay with them as their service is very reliable. They did a deal and I cancelled talktalk......glad I did because a recent survey says that talktalk's customers are the most disatisfied with their service.
I had nothing but trouble with talktalk when I phoned their helpline all I got was abuse
I pay £65 roughly for Virgin, can't really afford it-when I move I was considering BT. Doesn't seem popular-whats wrong with it? I'll have to downgrade virgin, but will miss sci fi channel
I have just cancelled my Sky package, will be just watching the freeview channels, which suits me fine. I have kept the sky phone line and broadband, a saving of£34 ish a month.
I am paying £55 a quarter with BT, I was thinking of looking around for a better deal.
Question Author
£55 a QUARTER? we pay £60 a MONTH for BT broardband/phone and BT Vision
We are with BT fot telephone anytime calls and broadband and it is only £28pm
Actually Dotty, that does seem high. Are you on an old BT tariff. I used to pay broadband seperate at £30 a month but when we moved it was all in, and that isn't on a starter deal.
make sure you are at the end of your contract term dotty as BT will charge you rental to the end of it.......
dot if a lot of the people near you are getting this free broadband you may find it is slower than what you have at present

the more who use the same brodband near each other slows the speed down
Question Author
it's the cost of the monthly rent for the 3 services plus phone calls. I complained that it was expensive last December and they finally gave us a better deal in January but now it's crept up again as they had reduced the BT Vision to half price for 3 months. It's really only the broardband we use actually.
