W98 file associations: followup

Thankyou PD for youir help, but your suggestion doesnt work. Nor does manually changing association in Windows Explorer\view\folder options\FileTypes. And it isnt just My Win98: I have seen this problem on 3 other's :(. Any other ideas?

Bring up the run dialog box.... Type winfile then enter. Highlight the type of file your trying to change. Up on the tool bar under file pick associate. Then scroll tell you find what you want to associate with. Good luck
