If your kaspersky is a full interent security suite then replacing it with JUST anti virus does leave your PC exposed.

There is much more to PC security than anti virus.
And talking about the "best" anti-virus is like asking what is the "best" car.

Which is the most important to you?

range of malware detected?
lowest system overhead?
how quickly new threats are covered?
support?

etc. etc.
I use Kaspersky, and have done so ever since a rival free product let through a "nasty". But that said I think all the well known names are pretty much of a muchness. What one detects now the others will very soon. Pick a favourite and go with it.
malawarebytes & plus microsoft security
Oh For Funks Sake you idiot vignon mailwarebytes is not an anti virus tool for the second time tonight I have told you.

It is anti mailware you know a bit like spybot is anti spyware
So will you please stop giving people false information you idiot.

AVG tilleflop is the best free one
Have a look at EsetNod32...try the 30 day free trial... I just did not realise how much my last AV suite slowed my system down by, until I installed this

many years ago there was a lovely lady? by the name of Ethel and VHG they put me on the straight and narrow with Win Patrol, Zone Alarm,AVG now on Avast and Spyware Blaster all free no more Norton .never looked back since, that's not to say you need to keep your doorstep clean and tidy HTH Tez
Why not install good Freeware such as Comodo or Microsoft Security Essentials if you do not wish to pay for protection. Both of these give Real Time protection for Anti Virus and Anti Spyware.
I use AVG and Malwarebytes'.................both are freebies and I've never had any problems.
That "eset" is an interesting site. Frist thing it does is try to download a file !
Not sure what it is up to, but that's way too furtive for me.
I use AVG Free and IObit 360 Free - both excellent (in my view)
"That "eset" is an interesting site. Frist thing it does is try to download a file ! "
Doesn't for me...
I use Eset smart security on all my machines, have done for years, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the best all-rounder - AV, Antispy, AntiSPAM, Firewall
