Ok, so some might find it so, but some will find anything a problem.

Personally I really don't think it warrants his name and picture plastered over the papers.

Perhaps the time has come to legalize prostitution, tax it and monitor it to prevent human slavery in the 'profession'. After all it is included in our GDP calcsand consequently our contribution to the EU.

As long as it remains a fantasy with a prostitute it is not such a problem. The worry is that it might feed a desire to go further. Meanwhile it makes great newspaper expose to titillate or offend as the reader sees fit.
I suppose part of the problem is, again, the idea that he might have used official channels (his school-based email address) to contact the prostitute in question. Throw into the mix the schoolgirl fantasy element and it's a bit dodgy and shows lack of judgement.
What a head teacher - or indeed any individual does - in private, is just that - private, and no-one's business.

If (and he has so far not been charged with or convicted of any offence) he has shown such a serious lack of judgement as to involve his school e-mail - and by default his school, in this issue, then yes, it is a problem.
gawd there'll be judges watching porn next......hang on!

There undoubtedly already is.

Anyone in a position of authority is entitled to a level of privacy.

The problems arise when they show sufficient lack of judgement, which in turn impacts on their ability to fulfil their professional role adequately, that their private issues become public - and this may, or may not be the case here.

It is easy for the media to stoke the titillation fires - 'head teacher fantasises about school girl shock horror!!!' - but he remains uncharged and so far unsuspended, so we must wait and see what unfolds.
Andy do keep up, that was meant to be irony, see the post below on judges.
Oops - missed that!

Appears to be for using the school email.

Like the judges below, probably a quick and quiet disciplinary(so long as not a recurring offence) not dragged across the National papers.

One wonders who tells the papers about these things.
My first thought was to wonder if a pupil had hacked his email account.

Thats entirely possible. One of my daughters had a penchant for 'interfering' with the school IT system. She even prefixed every directory (including the supposed secure areas) with "XXXX is great" to expose their incompetence.
By running this story ... and those that are of similar type... is that no matter whether he did or did not involve himself in such a dialogue with a prostitute he will probably not be able to continue in this type of employment .... sadly mud will stick..... I do not understand why allegations have to be reported at all ... why not wait until the case has reached it's conclusion. If it is found to be untrue I hope he sues the pants of that paper.
What a stupid person . Using the school's email to send the messages.!!
No he shouldn't have had is photo plastered all over the newspapers until he is found guilty

Surely a man in his position wouldn't be stupid enough to use the school's email address or even the school's computer for that matter.

Could it be that someone else has set this up as a joke or even to get back at this teacher for some reason?
Or he could genuinely be stupid and have made this error. We'll have to wait and see, of course, but I think it's very possible that he did something this silly. Plenty of other people have.

Sadly, there is no 'surely' about that.

You cannot presume a level of common sense and self preservation commensurate with academic intelligence, more's the pity.

I work for BT, and engineer's laptops are monitored for private usage, and viewing pornography is a dismissal offence - but people still get caught doing it.

Of course its a problem. He is a teacher and if one of his sexual fantasies includes school children then that's worrying.

Get real.

A prostitute (or older woman) in a short probably American style short dress does not resemble even the most trashiest of school girls anywhere.

Besides, it is the pro that suggests it, not him.
