I've just registered with a large garden supplies website and when I went to log on this message came up..

Is it anything to worry about? I don't shop on the internet very often, I'm a bit paranoid. :)

night Jude, i am glad that steady is ok
everyone's children okay, then? That's a relief. Nine days till mine gets wed but he seems to be coping okay, probably because Lucy's doing everything. She sent me the guest notes to proofread (that's a list of the guests and a little biog of each one; everyone gets one so they know who everyone else is, which seems sensible). Just as well she did, as some of it looked a bit rushed. About three exclamation marks per sentence, but hey, if a bride can't exclaim on her wedding day, when can she?

Here's the Ritz menu, not as fishy as the one I'd seen online

It was all very pleasant, big Edwardian room, hundreds of waiters, and the food was enjoyable without being astounding (but then my palate isn't really sophisticated enough to recognise astounding). Quite small portions but tasty, which is all I ask. There were also amuse bouches at the start and petit fours at the end.

But would I have paid £150 (the full price for two) for it? Don't think so. In fact, I only paid the reduced price because it was a Christmas present.

The only odd thing was that they brought the bread selection (onion buns, white bread, raisin and walnut bread and something else) then a moment later they brought the amuse bouches then another moment later the starters. Shouldn't we have had a few minutes after each one to start eating? Or do people expect everything to land at once these days?

Oh well, anyway, I have now dined at the Ritz.
well the pea and lobster soup sounds nice but monkfish with oxtail????
I had the tart... which was a sort of flat biscuit with creamed something on top (probably the tunworth, which is apparently some sort of cheese; couldn't taste the pear and walnut). Couldn't taste anything specific, in fact, but it had a nice feel in the mouth.

I've only just noticed the bit about service being included - nice of them to draw a line through it, I didn't see it and left a tip. Muggins.
Jno, the posh folk do.
oh and I had the lamb and soufflé. There was a string quartet playing - the only thing I recognised was an elaborate version of The Foolish Things, which seemed to be done in waltz time, but I expect posh folk play like that all the time too..
You should have got up and danced Jno ! It all sounds very nice and a lovely experience .My posh tea that I had there years ago was a treat from a friend whose son I used to look after, after school .
I'm glad Steady is Ok Jude ,must have been a long day for you. I've just realised that Norwich will be playing Derby this season !
It's been very chilly here today although it was quite warm in the garden though when the sun did put in an appearance .Colder in than out .
I watched an interesting programme this evening about the Romanovs on BBC2,Russia's Lost Princesses.
And it's over and out from me .Goodnight all ,sleep toight
Good morning all. All quiet on the western front! I'm keeping fit as Steady sleeps at the top of his house on the 2nd floor so I've just done a dash down to make a cuppa then had to dash back down again for the pain killers.

I have to be honest Jno as much as I really like fish none of those courses appealed to me. In fact it was like a foreign language to me. Maybe they would have looked more appetising had they been out in front of me. I'm still pleased you enjoyed yourself and I wouldn't mind dining at The Ritz just to be able to say I have. The nearest I've got to dining in London was a Champagne tea at Harrods! Which was a treat for me!
I've just looked at the time. 6.22. I think I'm here for the day so I'll probably end up doing a bit of housework. Nothing changes does it? That is after I've strolled to the village paper shop. It's a lovely place to live and I'm really pleased he bought a house here.
Well that's enough rambling.
Have a good weekend all. See yer laters Gaters. :)
good morning, its bottle bank friday here for the houses at the back of us so we ate up early and sat by the sea, at least i am, the dogs are asleep. poor rab dorsnt seem to be losing his fear of the jingly noise the bottle bank lorry makes so its easiest on us all just to be out of the house. i go online, eat breakfast and have a doze then its time to go home again
another bright chilly day, chillier because Bob the Builder is finishing today (I expect) and all the doors are open, letting demons cross the threshold. It was mizzling a bit but it has gone away so he should be able to finish the painting.
Good morning all biddies. Another stinker here.

Oh jno 9 days, hope all dresses, hats shoes are in order, teeth gleaming and hair app made. How exciting.
Oh Woofy you poor thing. Its like me with hija.
all in hand, neti, and happily all the missing teeth are out of sight, as long as I keep my mouth shut.
Hello all
Bright and breezy ,bit of drizzle, only 17C though.I'm beginning to sound like Wincey Willis.
Hope you're all ok .Nothing exciting here apart from seeing Mr S totally lose his rag on the phone to our former gas/leccy supplier who have sent us a bill which we don't owe .
Mr S is like a volcano .He doesn't erupt for years but when he does ,stand well back !
oh dear, ash cloud over Norfolk?
I've just rung the GP's surgery to see if they could chase up my cardio appointment. The receptionist said "Where would you like to go?" I said I hadn't a clue, not knowing a lot about cardiology (I don't even recognise a heart attack when I have one). So she checked out some waiting lists online and said "Would you like to go to the Royal Brompton on the 9th?" I said "Yes".

Is that how it's done these days? Should I have asked the receptionist to sort it out weeks ago? I thought the doctors did it.
I think you do have to chase them up sometimes .I did when Mr S was ill and for his aftercare .
You'll be in good hands at the RB though .That's where my old schoolfriend had her bypass last year .She only went in with a leaky valve but it went from bad to worse .She said the level of care was excellent .
I was startled that apparently the doctor hadn't actually referred me anywhere herself, though she left me with the impression that she was doing so. But perhaps I just thought that because I was expecting her to do so? I know you get a lot of patient choice these days, which is completely useless if you don't know one hospital from another, but nobody actually said "Choose a hospital" until today. At least the receptionist gave me a list of hospitals and waiting times, so I chose the shortest, since I've been waiting a month already.
I think the doctor is supposed to refer you too. She/he has obviously forgotten to do so ! When I asked to be referred to the pain management clinic she asked there and then where I would like to go .I could have gone to Norwich but when the local hospital is only a mile up the road it would have been daft to traipse twenty miles away.
I've been round to the surgery to ask what was going on and the receptionist said the doctor did request an appointment for me (don't know where) but as they hadn't answered I was free to choose a different place, which I have.

I don't know how long you need to wait before switching - perhaps I should just have specified "the place with the shortest list" right from the start. I will next time, since they can apparently access waiting times online.
All's well that ends well then Jno .Good job you did chase them up .
