It must have been light out at 8am even in Birmingham, the taxi driver must have seen the man at some point, had some sort of view of him yet no description whatsover that I can find in any of the news stories.

"seen a man running from the vicinity of" just a man and thats it"

plenty to go on

How very odd !

The driver is maybe still in shock, it only happened this morning.

How awful, though. Hope they catch him.
Most black cabs cannot be opened without the driver releasing the lock.

The driver alerted the police, so I'm guessing they must have asked him for a description of some sorts, yet there is nothing.

Unless someone told the police, how did they come to the conclusion he was running away or did they just assume he ran away.
Presumably there was a pick up address or a publlc place like the rank where there will be CCTV.
From a local paper.

/// *UPDATE: Police have surrounded a house in Ormscliff Road, Rednal. ///

/// It is believed to be connected to the earlier incident in Northfield. ///

And the Mail's report

http://www.dailymail....ath-partner-taxi.html
where does it says it's a black taxi? and you would see your passengers get in as they would have to say where they are heading.
The suspect has been described as a 5'6 mixed race man of Asian appearance in his 20's known locally as 'Junior', the partner of Natasha, the victim.

It wasn't a black cab, it was a radio car - private hire.

Nothing odd at all.

@hc4361

those details were not available in the reports I saw early this morning, there was no description of the male assailant given by the police at that time, so why later in the day when it must have been known from the start ?

thats odd to me
Because some information is restricted to the public.

The suspect has now been arrested.
perhaps you would have liked the man's colour to be mentioned? A photo of the suspect was issued; you can still find it online.

if the police wanted help then why didnt they give out a description which they must of had of the person they asked for help in catching ?

"perhaps you would have liked the man's colour to be mentioned" you said it not me, shows whats going through your tiny little mind doesnt it though

when i first saw the report of the story and posted on here earlier today there was no mention of any description or photo of the now known culprit.
