Hi everyone, A few times lately when moving rooms with my laptop it has sort of faded away, but the next time I used it everthing appeared OK. However last week i plugged in and switched on and absolutely nothing happened, it was completely dead not a flicker anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what could be the matter with it please. Janet

First thing to try is disconnect the power, remove the battery and then hold down the power button for 10secs... then put the battery back in, reconnect power and try again.

If it's still totally dead then I'd be getting the power supply checked first and then the power socket on the laptop, after that then it's looking like it may be new laptop time! (unless you can buy an extended warranty on it)
Your power lead could be damaged and therefor your battery will not be getting charged , is the power light coming on on your laptop when you have the power lead in?.
Beat me to it Chuck......

Thank u all for your answers. I shall certainly try what what Chuck suggests when I return home from holiday. I have already bought a new laptop, just can't seem to live without one these days or maybe I should just "get a life".
Once again thanks for taking the time - Janet
